I can't see, download or open any "attachments" that are in forum posts... I could before but, I guess just today, when I tried to open/download the RAK list is just came up with a blank webpage and to download it just wants to download as a clear.gif..... and other posts that have like a card pic in the attachment box thingy... now it is just an empty box...
I'm having the same trouble. A box where attachments should appear is visible but empty. Other comments seem to suggest that others are able to view the attachment. I haven't changed anything since yesterday when I could view things that were attached. What do I need to do to fix things?

I just checked my other posts cause I thought it was just todays. But I can't see any attachments to any of the posts.
Was going to ask this same question & was not sure where to put it so I am glad someone else started the thread. Thanks.

I am having the same problem and I have been checking with all the techie forums. They mostly suggest running a REG edit command, but it isn't working for me. Also, there have been a few sites claiming they have a special download for this - don't trust it yet. I am really frustrated - I hope someone has figured this out and can help us. Daven? Do you know? I know some have said they are running firefox, but I am not. I have Win XP and it all happened after downloading the MS security upgrades the other day... hmm...
I have a picture (jpg) attached to one of my swaps in the swap forum. Everyone else has been able to see it until today. I'm the only one that can still see it but then again I'm the one who posted it.
Any clues would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

I have windows xp also and the attachment pics have come and gone for me since we got this new computer. Wonder if it is Microsoft trying to "protect" us. LOL.
People have been having trouble seeing a sketch challenge update I made last week so I was trying to upload another one. I thought it must be my Word program as it has been crashing intermittently. Now I think the problem is not necessarily me.This is all I'm getting when I try and upload....
Ideas anyone? Julia

Tonight I can't see any attachments. I could up until last week, when I tried to view Julia's newest sketch challenge sheet. I thought it was just a glitch because of the changes going on, and I've been on and off the site since then and haven't really tried to open any attachments.
In the Workshop Ideas forum, someone suggested it may be because of a recent Norton upgrade. My DH just spent 1/2 hours messing around with the settings, and nothing worked. And we can't all have recently upgraded our security, so it must be something else.

Yes, I was also unable to add an attachment to a post, but I had no problem sending it via email. Glad to hear it wasn't my attachment or me.
Hopefully they'll have it worked out soon.

Yes, these are the messages I got when trying to attach my Excel file; I tried attaching it directly and also zipping it through WinZip and attaching it - both failed with the same message.
In addition to not being able to attach anything I also cannot view attachments. For example, I was trying to look at a Crystal effects attachment (it had a .doc file extension) and when the window opens it's just a blank page with "Done" in the lower left corner - nothing ever loads. This is a new problem for me as I have both attached files and viewed files in the past.
I have tried this on 3 different computers between yesterday and this morning and I get the same result with each. I can tell you that I have successfully viewed and attached files with 2 of these computers, so I don't think it's machine-related.
Is anyone from SCS looking into this? How do we normally 'log an issue' other than posting a thread? Is there a process for this?
Ok, the actual vBulletin site has attached thumbnails in it's community forum and I can see those fine, so it must be something here that affects a few of us member...
Jen, Does that mean you want us all to email help@splitcoast, or is this just for a future reference for other problems? Just wanting to clarify this before you get bombarded with ton's of emails on this if you are obviously already aware of the problem and working on it.

I cannot see any of the thumbnails in the forums and used to be able to. e.g. couldn't see last week's sketch challenge posted by AndreaSophie but I could and still can see the previous weeks ones. I can see the thumbnail in the thread above.
Does anyone know why all of a sudden when I try to open an attachement, (ie template), I am given a clear gif file. When opened on my desktop it is blank! If I double clink on the pdf or word file I receive a blank screen with the word done on the bottom. I updated my Adobe and my Microsoft to see if anything was outdated... but nothing seems to help. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thank you in advance. [email protected]
This is happening to me, too. And to others I know. Last word from Jen Balcer was that "they" are aware of this and are trying to come up with a solution.
Yeah!!!! it's not "just me" this is happening to! WHEW! ;) I had tried the right click, save target as.... and still got clear.gif :( so I was thinking it was something wanky with my computer....
Please help!!! For whatever reason I can't seem to open any of the attachments or thumbnails in threads anymore. I click on the thumbnail, a new screen opens (blank) and then at the bottom of the screen it will say DONE. Sometimes in the past when this would happen - it would open, but would take a little bit - especially with PDF files. However, I am having this problem just pulling word documents. Any ideas? I am signed in, I have pulle things before, it is just since the update. I appreciate everyone's help!
THANKS!
Jenn posted this in one of the other threads about attachments! This question has been asked over and over again, you are not the only one having this problem!
