Hi all! I think we need to have a stamp day here! How about Saturday November 6th. LMK if interested. We can do a potluck and just eat and stamp!! It will be held in my "Craft Cottage". An apartment for stamping! Pictures attached.
To give you a general idea, I am 1.5 hours from BWI airport, 1.5 hours from the Philly airport. I am located pretty much in the center of Delaware.
i might be interested in coming - i will have to check my calendar at home to be sure that weekend is still open - i am in wilmington and if i can make it would be more than happy to help out in any way....keep me posted on the details....
Valerie-
I've been meaning to PM you! I'd ABSOLUTELY be interested! You know I'm in Wilmington, and I'm free on the 6th! Yeah! I'm so excited to see your cottage!
Let me know what you want me to do, bring, supply, etc.
Tracy- This is going to be way too much fun!! Someone else posted from Wilmington - maybe you could ride together. If you pm me your address I'll send a detailed map to you......
Hey
First of all I have to ask - you have an apartment just for stamping??
How cool is that
I would love to come, but my dh works on Saturdays and my ds is only 4.
I am in southern NJ sbout 20 mins. outside of Phila.
If you ever have one on a Sunday - I would trully try to come
Have fun Ladies
Tina
ladies - after some thought I have come up with a make and take for this get-together. It is a French Script/Ivy & Berry tumbled tile coaster (pic attached). I thought it would be nice for you to have a momento from the "Craft Cottage". It would be a lovely gift or something to keep for yourself. Each person can make two of them.
Tina - Maybe we should work on a tentative Sunday date to have a get together???

Katie-
I'd be more than happy to drive, if you want to carpool! Let me know by pm or post. I'm sure we're close!
Where exactly in Delaware do you live? I live in Denton, Md. I have committed to be a vendor at a scrap in Salisbury on November 6. :( I would have definately come otherwise!! Sundays won't work for me but if you have a get together any other Friday or Saturday, count me in. If Nov. 6 doesn't work for many people, I don't have anything on my schedule for the 13th or the 20th. My sister in law is a demo as well and would probably love to come as well. She lives in Easton, Md.
Denton is not far at all! I am in Greenwood, but actually right out side of Milford. You are about a half hour east of me. On the other post for a get together they are talking about the 13th. They are having a hard time finding a place, I offered for them to come here. Should that happen I'll keep you posted.
On the 20th I'll me in Madison at regionals. I can't wait! My whole family is there (I grew up and lived there until about 5 years ago). So I can see everyone, have an early Christmas and STAMP!!!
Lori - I have to drive down to Lewes tomorrow so I'll record the milage from lets say the Lowes store to the turn off of Highway 1 north. I don't know how familiar you are with the area but the road you turn onto off of 1 is Johnson. It is an easy drive to get here. About a half hour from rehoboth.
I'm thinking this will be from maybe 9 - 6. Everyone can bring some sort of munchie, sort of a pot luck.
I am starting these directions from where highway 9 and highway 1 (coastal highway) intersect in front of Lowes in Lewes.
Drive north on rt. 1 for 14.8 miles. Take a left onto Johnson Road. Continue on Johnson - straight through a stop sign and one set of lights. The second set of lights will be Highway 113. Go straight through intersection. Johnson Rd. changes name to Fitzgerald Rd. Continue for 2.2 miles going straight through one stop sign. At the second stop sign you will take a left. You will be on Rt. 36/Shawnee Road. Drive for just under one mile. You will take a right hand turn onto Hidden Meadow Lane (my street) You will come to a stop sign. Go straight. My house will be about the 5th on the left. House is set back in trees, ducks on the mailbox. (plus I'll hang balloons out there). Drive past the house to the far end of the pole barn. That is where The Craft Cottage is located.
So:
N. on 1 for 14.8 miles
Left on Johnson.
Johnson turns to Fitzgerald
Left at stop sign onto 36/Shawnee Road
After one mile, right on Hidden Meadow.
Straight through stop sign. 5th house on left, ducks on mailbox.
Let me know if you need any more info!!
Thanks!

unfortunately, i won't be able to make it to this - though it sounds fun...i got a workshop booked for that day, and decided it wouldn't be a good move to put that off. i hope you guys have fun and keep me in teh loop for any future events...
Have fun everyone!! My DD is a junior at UDel. We'll be stopping to visit with her this Saturday on our way to Florida. Love your avatar bluehenstamper...very cute!
Darn! I already promised my husband that we'd go to Punkin Chunkin! What a choice - flying vegetables or stamping! But, a promise is a promise.
Maybe there's a game on you could get him interested in?!? You could say, "Oh no, honey, I don't mind if you stay home. I'm sure I can find something else to do that day..."

Katie, I can totally understand - That being said I just wish you could re-schedule and come!!! I just know we will be sharing sooooo many ideas on workshops, techniques, gift ideas!!!! I think what we learn will be an asset to our businesses. Oh - plus the food!!
i also wish i could reschedule, but with people's work schedule and the upcoming holidays, this is the only time that would work out for my hostess.... i am really disappointed that i won't be able to make it
My sister in law and I live in Denton, Maryland and would like to join in. Is there still room? If so, can you give me directions coming from Harrington, Delaware? And let me know what we should bring.
Can you give me all the details about a Shoebox Swap? I understand you make a sample and then the materials for everyone to make your sample but I still have questions. How many "kits" do we make? Will we assemble them at the get together? Do we make a sample for everyone to keep? I was thinking if we don't put them together at the event and don't each have a sample, how do we remember what each one looks like after we bring them home? Why is it called "shoebox"? Sorry for all the questions, but I've never participated in a shoebox swap before!!!!
Design and make a card of your choice. Then have enough cardstock, embellishments....for everyone to make your particular card. I guess they call it a "shoebox" swap because your could put all of your supplies in it? We will just set out each persons swap at different stations. You can just rotate until you make them all. I think if you have enough for 8 you should be safe. Actually, my count is at 8 now, so maybe enough for 10 just in case.
Please let me know if you have any more questions!!!
