A group of people get together to make swaps. Let's say there are 11 people. Each person brings a shoebox filled with what is needed to make their card. They bring enough for 10 people to make the card. Then you go around and make all 10 cards to take home.

Lots of fun!

I learned this after going to my first shoe box swap:
some people prefer a sheet of simple directions. I bought an 8x10" acrylic frame that stands on it's own, printed my directions from the computer, cut the paper down to 8"x10" and put the directions in the frame.

Also, sometimes it is expected that you will have already sorted all materials and put them into individual bags or cello bags so each person can just grab one bag and have all the pieces (cardstock, ribbon, tags, etc...) needed to complete your project.

Enjoy the swap- it can be fun using other products you haven't tried yet!

Thanks for the information. I'm preparing for my first one and I'll use it. I really like the framed instructions idea.
