This idea came up in another thread - Thanks photocropper/Shelley - I didn't want to completely hijack that thread, so I'm starting a new one.
Were you stressed by trying to complete your holiday cards this year? Do you wish they had been completed before Thanksgiving? Join our Christmas 2005 Monthly Challenge!!!! Just complete 10 Christmas cards every month. If you finish your Christmas cards you can continue the challenge by moving on to Thank You cards (or you can mix it up and do some of each throughout the challenge). You can join anytime! Just let me know what month you want to start and what month you will be finished (depending on the number you need to make). You can do this any way you like - make 100 of the same card - 10 at a time or make a different set of 10 each month or make each card completely different and unique. I'll update this post to show the people who have joined us. Just post to this thread to let us know you want in. Then each month when you complete your 10 cards just post a message to this thread. I have always wanted to complete my cards this way since I don't really enjoy mass production.
PLEASE NOTE - THIS IS NOT A SWAP!!!!
When you complete cards for any month please post to:
Forums at Splitcoaststampers This is the updated link - new thread for cards starting with July.
That thread is also in the challneg forum so it is always easy to find!
There is a spreadsheet attached to either the first or second post in that thread. We will update the spreadsheet 2 or 3 times per month.
Deadline to post cards finished for this challenge is SUNDAY NOVEMBER 27th!
So - are you with us????

Count me in - I was planning to do this after the struggle that I had this year. I love Christmas cards and wouldn't mind doing ten a month - heck, that would leave me with extra's to sell or gift!

I would LOVE to do this. I'll need my SCS sisters to keep me in line and remind me...lol
jennkb-that's a great idea, if you have extras to sell them, more $$$ in your pocket at the end of the year!!
Ok Ladies - I've added you to the original post! Anybody else who wants to join in just post a message to this thread. Make sure you have notifications turned on so you'll get reminders about this.
Each month when you've finished your 10 cards please post a message to this thread!
Great Idea! I'm in.. I will start in January and I should be done by July. If I keep going after that I will be able to sell at craft fairs next year. This year I was only able to sell coasters and magnets and I was hoping to have more options next year. Thanks for the idea and the group effort!

What an awesome idea! A good way to keep me in line with my cards. I ended up mailing all of mine on the 22nd. Consequently, they didn't reach everyone in time for X'mas. So please count me in!
What a great idea , I hate waiting til the last minute, and then not getting them sent out til the last second. I want to get next years done before December. I want to do different ones each month .
I love the idea of making a few Christmas cards per month. Count me in on this challenge. I will start in January and complete my cards by Thanksgiving.
Count me in! It was sooo stressful trying to get my cards done this year. I would love to get them done before Thanksgiving. I usually have all of my Christmas shopping done before Thanksgiving but not this year. I didn't even have ideas on what to get at Thanksgiving. I felt like I could never catch up the entire season and I'm not exatually sure why.
Count me in! I'm hoping to get my sister to committ early this year what she wants for her company as well, so I'm not rushing to get everything done! I want to make 10 cards a month doing a different theme each month

Jami - thanks for running with that for me I am running low on time with the movers coming in 2 1/2 weeks!!
PLEASE count me in too!!!! I will have to either make 20 in Feb. or make 10 this month for Jan since my things will all be packed up BUT I will still "Play"!!!
Should we do reminders like the 3rd week of the month so that everyone will remember?!
Thanks again!

Count me in, too! I ordered photo cards from Snapfish for my holiday cards this year, and stamped the envelopes, because I had no time to do stamped cards . . . so if I do this challenge -- I should be able to actually send stamped holiday cards for 2005! Great idea! Thanks!
Sounds good to me. I still have a stack waiting to be mailed for this holiday. Serves me right for procrastinating! Maybe this will keep me motivated. Great idea!

I'm in! I do one craft fair every Nov at my kids' (old) preschool,so hopefully this will motivate me to do plenty to sell as well as give to teachers,etc...thanks for the challenge!
Yes...Yes...Yes...Count this professional procrastinator in. And....I will be able to take the time to do a more elaborate card each month and have the time to get the supplies I need. What a great idea....
I like this idea. I need to figure our how many I'd like to make before I sign up. I need to do this. I didn't send out cards this year. Thinking about sending out Happy New Year cards though.

Thank you so much! You know it was so hard to get my Christmas cards this year!!! I have a 2 yeard old beautiful baby girl that keeps me on the go and on my toes. It was really a challenge to get things done with her because she also wanted to stamp. So with all that said I think you all would get a good enough picture of what I'm talking about.
I'll commit to 10 cards a month. I'll let my sister to tag along I think she is going to love this idea. It would be cool to start though knowing which stamp sets to use for our monthly Christmas project. I have quite a stash and I would like to use the ones that will remain in the big catalog. Let me know and thanks for allowing to be part of the group.
I'd like to join in. I was just looking at my Christmas stamps tonight and thinking, "gee, I wish I didn't have to put them away." I'll do 10 a month for the whole year and we'll see how far I get.
All right! Great IDEA! I'm in and I will start in January and go to October (we've moved a lot and I still keep in touch with LOTS of people)....and I love to stamp cards...... YIPPEE!

I'm in... I might not do all ten, but I just might. I have a feeling I'm going to need more next year than I did last year. Not to mention I make my friend's. I've also decided that I want new ornaments for me tree, so anyone else want to join me for an ornament challenge?
Okay, I have to jump on this challenge! I had done quite a few of my cards done in time, but my DH decided at the last minute to leave to go out of town, two days before we were supposed to. I didn't have time to mail the ones I had and I didn't have time to make the ones I had left to make. So, some people didn't get any and some are getting theirs late! Next year I would like to be more on top of things, so this challenge is perfect! Thanks for the idea!
I'd like to try this also. It was way too crazy getting them in the mail. I know some people manage to get done in November. I am hoping to keep up with birthdays and anniversaries this year also. I guess it's my New Year's resolution!
