I was O'So tired of fighting shaker cards, trying to "hide" the foam and keep all the little fillers inside! So my DH, King Penny Wise, created an EASY to use template for me with his CAD Program!
Now I whip shaker cards out left and right - the fillers are all sealed in good, and the edges are "automatically" finished! Ya gotta try these!!
I'll be uploading the template AND the step by step instructions -- you'll want to look at those too as I have discovered some tricks and tips to help you create a perfectly sinmple shaker card!!
Super Simple Shaker Cards

Supplies:
Template - cut out of cardstock (I usually use white or vanilla)
Square of acetate/transparency and Square cardstock - The size depends on the size of your template � these need to be about �� larger than the opening of the window in your template.
Stamps & Inks
Double Sided Foam Tape
O�So Sticky Double Sided Adhesive
Other items that are similar: Red Liner, Terrifically Tacky & Bead Bond
(This is a great opportunity to use up those scraps from other projects!)
Glass Glitter Micro Beads
You only need a small amount for your shakers � use LESS than you think!
Assembly:
Step 1. Cut shaker template from cardstock, cut out center. Score all fold lines. Cut a square from cardstock and a square from acetate plastic.
Step 2. Cover one side of template with desired stamp images and stamp one side of the square cardstock � you will see this through the window of your card.
Step 3. Place a strip of scrap double sided tape (O�So Sticky scrap or other) on the right hand tab close to the outside edge of tab. Place your stamped square over the window design facing the window and align. Fold over the tab so that the tape catches your square. Now it will be perfectly aligned when you are done!
Step 4. On theback side of the template place four pieces of double sided tape (O�So Sticky scraps or other) the width of each side around cut out window, overlap if you must but do not leave any gaps or your beads will spill out!

TIP: To fight static cling inside your shaker, spray window cleaner onto a paper towel and wipe it over both sides of your acetate! Let it dry completely before going to step 5.

Step 5. Place acetate piece on top of double sided tape. Rub down to adhere. (Don't worry if the square isn't completely covering the tape.)
Step 6. Place four lengths of foam mounting tape on top of acetate. Try to make sure pieces touch on all four edges to form a box arounding the window. Take the paper off of the foam tape now.
Step 7. CAREFULLY fill center with beads � use LESS than you think you need! There should be enough room for the beads to shake back and forth when it is put together but if you put too many, it will cover your image and you�ll be sad!
Step 8. Fold the right tab with the sqaure cardstock attached in and secure to the sticky foam. Add double sided tape to left tab, fold in and secure. Add tape to top and bottom tabs, fold in to secure.
If you don't have a graphics program, you will probably have to print it out as is, and then reduce/enlarge at a photocopy machine.
If you DO have a graphics program, import it into that, and then use the resizing option.
I have found I can even do this on my eMac with my Appleworks DRAW program, with PDF files!!!! I have to export them to my desktop in a jpg conversion, and then drag them into my Appleworks and waaaah laaaaah! I just figured this out one night when messing around with a pattern because my doggone 3-in-one HP scanner/copier/printer is totally broke . . .

I had just figured this out myself a couple of days ago. I have the wood mounted stamp from Art Gone Wild, in 2 different sizes. I find the folding a bit of a pain, so I made it easier by just inking up the middle frame, and dotted line, stamp it out, I can get 4 images from one inking. I did a ton of these the other nite from all my scraps. Now I have a bin full of frames, in all different colors.
I'm new to SCS, and I'm slowing working my way through the techniques forum. There are so many wonderful tips that you wonderful stampers have shared, and I can't wait to try out some new stuff.
I saw an episode on DIY where someone used the wooden stamp to create the image and cut it out. Shortly after this episode someone suggested using the SU! envelope template to create the frame. That might work....
I just discovered a stamp/scrap store in Snoqualmie WA that has a computerized die cutter and she can scan the templates into the program and the cutter whips them out in no time! Gotta love that!!!
Hey Leah, if you click under and just to the left of the 'A' in attached thumbnails under the very first post you should be able to click on it. It' seems to be invisible. I clicked there and got the template.
Where were you yesterday with this post?? *Tear*Tear*Sniff*Sniff* I was cussing trying to get the stinkin adhesive on my frames without it showing yesterday and I told my friend that I would rethink ever making shaker cards again... Thank you for sharing because maybe now I will attempt to make those types of cards again...
I did a frosty card BTW and put the snow that you can purchase at the dollar store in it. They turned out nice.
If you go to queenpennywise's gallery and open the template for the shaker card (or follow this link: Gallery at Splitcoaststampers ), once it's on that page, put your cursor anywhere on the picture of the template, right click, select "Copy", and paste the image into a blank Word document. Once in Word and the template is pasted to a page, with your cursor over the image, left click twice, and the "Format Picture" box should open up (or right click , and click on where it says "Format Picture" in the box). Click on the tab near the top of the box that says "Picture", then in the top section of that box where it says "Crop Pictrue", you can do just that! Once you've cropped it, then you can resize it by clicking on the image and dragging a corner until you get the size you want. If you want to make it pretty big, then set the paper orientation to landscape. If you size it right, you may even be able to get 2 frames on a sheet of cardstock (don't forget that you can make your margins smaller if needed to help them fit on the page, and crop as close to the template as you can). Print a practice copy on typing paper, then you can just print the template onto your cardstock if you want and eliminate the tracing step (and you only have to cut it out once!) Play with it and see what you can do! And once you get a size you like, don't forget to save it!!! ;) HTH!
PS: In the "Format Picture" box, if you click on the tab that says "size", it will tell you what size your image is. I don't know how much to enlarge it since I've not actually made these cards, I've just gotten the template downloaded!

When I do this to copy to word it does not print in word at all. I just get a blank page???? I am so frustrated... I really love this idea but cannot get it so I can print it. Can anyone attach the acutal document? Thanks!
