This fan fits inside a standard invitation-sized envelope, but will required extra postage for mailing. You may wish to mail with cardboard support added to the envelope or in a padded envelope so that it doesn't get caught in the machinery used to sort mail.
Have fun creating fans and make sure to post them to Splitcoast Stampers!
I will add my words of thanks to all the others. Thank you so much for sharing this with all of us. Your talents and generosity are greatly appreciated.
Thank you Michelle for sharing the pattern with all of us!!! I will most definately give you credit whenever I use this!!
I just have a question for you - the ribbon that is put on the back - is that just so the fan blades can't come apart??
The card is not supposed to open and close like a fan is it????
You have to fasten the brad down really tight so nothing moves?
TIA
Amie
Amie,
The fan is really supposed to work like a real fan. The brad should NOT be fastened really tight. You want it to move! The ribbon on the back of the fan holds the blades together, yes, but in a way that enables the fan to open and close. The ribbon has to be attached at just the precise locations on the back of the fan blades to allow for the opening and closing. There is a small fan diagram showing where the ribbon must be attached.
The ribbon should be "tight" between the blades... excess ribbon will cause the fan blades to move too far open.
Email again if this is not clear to you. I'll try to explain better.
When I try to click on the attachment, all I get is a blank screen. This happens most of the time for me, so I end up having to ask that someone email me the directions. I love the finished fans, I was able to click on those and actually got a picture. Computors!!! I Love them, but just don't understand them....kind of like raising a teenager. LOL

ps. Yes I am logged on...just in case you wondered if that was the reason I couldn't get an image.
