has anyone see the chizzel-it?? I just saw one demonstrated at a local scrapbook expo, and I thought it was cool. I just knew there had to be cool ways to use it with stamping. so I got one for 50% off yesterday, and played around with it. I LOVE it!!! it comes with 6 different tips for different uses. there's an embossing tip for dry embossing on paper and CS, an engraving tip for engraving on metal, glass, plastic etc.. love this tip! I engraved my name on the bottom of my watercolor pencils and pastels last night! and I'm engraving a votive holder with seashells from stipple shells to go in my bathroom. I'll post pics when it's done. then there's a brush tip for brushing on ink-gives an air brushed affect, and a rough metal cone tip for distressing metal accents, then there's a porcelain sanding tip for distressing paper and such (hhmm... wonder how I can use it on tera-cotta pots?), and finally a chalking/buffing tip for applying chalk to your project.
geez you'd think I work for the company for the comercial I just gave 'em! but I love this thing! anyway if anyone has one please share what you've done with it. if not go get one and start sharing your ideas! hehe this thing is fun!
mine was $11.99 but I had a 50% off coupon so it was only $6 I got mine at my local craft store called "Robert's craft" the chizzel-it is made by Provo Craft (who merged w/ Robert's so of corse they carry it). but here's a link to a place where you can get one online. http://store.scrapbooking-warehouse.com/280744.html
their price isn't too bad, but I don't know how much shipping is. but this also has a picture so you know what you're looking for.
I'm still working on the votive holder between lunch, and kids, and such. hopefully I'll be able to post a pic w/in an hour or so?
JoAnne's had them 50% off a couple of weeks ago so I had to buy one. Haven't used it yet because didn't have a clue what to do with it. I look forward to some of your ideas.
Hmmm...that looks almost exactly like a manicure kit I have, but never use! Looks like one more neglected household object getting a new lease on life!

Cool - and don't forget - if its a "household item" you can use it for the Limited Supply challenges!!!!
Always LOVE when I find new things that otherwise would have hit the donation bag! My newest save - my silerware drawer thingy - now holds markers, sponges, stipple brushes and such!!!
ok, here's the pic I got of that votive holder that I engraved w/ the chizzle-it. and a link to the pic w/ description on my gallery. it's pending, but will hopefully be up soon. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
feel free to leave a comment. I know the pic isn't the best, but I'm not the best at potography, and glass is a tough one.
I'm not sure if Michael's carries it, but they might. this tool is so easy to use. there's just a little button on it. you put on your attachment tip, and push the button, and go at it. the tip rotates to do the job it's made for. it's very simple. I swear I should be selling these things I love it so much! I think the engraving tip is my favorite! any other questions?
This will have to go on my list, too! I picked up a cheap engraver a while back and the only engraving it did was when I scratched the surface with the tip. That votive holder just sold me on this!

Thanks for the info on the chisel-it. I have been looking or something like this and refused to pay $25 or more for the expensive ones. Your glass etching sold me. I just ordered it and the extra replacements! Thanks again.
I'm glad you liked my votive holder. after a while and no one said anything I was beginning to think everyone thought it was dumb, so they just didn't say anything. thanks
Michelle
