Default 3D Project Challenge #2

Alrighty, I haven't given up on this yet. I have received a TON of pm's about this challenge. Soooo...here goes.

This week, your challenge is to create a luminary! I was inspired by this post from last week...

Here is the one I created....

Here are the basic directions for mine.

Take 2 sheets of 8 1/2 by 11 CS and score both at 5 1/4 and 10 1/2. Then cut out the centers of the boxes, leaving a 1/2" border. Pull out your vellum (can be CS or Paper weight or even one of the designer paper vellums) and decorate 2 sheets. After Vellum has dried then cut 3/4" off to make it 10 1/4" tall and then cut 1/4 off to make it 8 1/4 inches wide. Score at 5 1/8". Glue vellum inside of the CS frames. Then, using sticky strip, attach 2 CS pieces together using the 1/2" tabs. And voila! You are done. If you need better directions, please PM me. I will post some other luminaries later in the day including smaller votive sized ones.

Remember to include 3D02 in the Keywords when you are uploading your pictures.

I added two more projects. One was done in the same size as the first and used preprinted snowflake vellum. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

The other is a smaller votive sized luminary. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

Sooo many people participated in the VSN and we had a blast. It inspired me to add a small gift to the winner of my weekly challenges. I hope that you will participate and that the incentive will draw in additonal players each week. Can't wait to see your ideas!

Are you going to post the votive sized ones? Still working on the big one, but won't be able to post- don't have a digital camera that works right now.

Here's my quick luminary! These could be really cute for table place cards, or buffet tags next to each food item.

What a great luminary. I really enjoyed your use of the star punches for the windows. Thank you so much for participating and sharing.
