Thanks all for responding - I'm excited at this prospect.

Forest Fair/Cincy Mills would be nearly the same for me.

Wouldn't it be funny if we all have somehow met in previous eras of our lives and this is how we re-connected? It is a small world afterall you know..... Or maybe I have seen or spoken to some of you in the stamp aisles at the Glenway Crossing Michael's or HL?

Are we talking about getting together in June or July? And what day of the week would work best for everyone?

Default SW Ohio stampers

I am ALWAYS in the Glenway Crossing Michael's and Hobby Lobby. In fact, I was just there tonight. I was explaining to a customer how to put eyelets in using an eyelet setter (she had asked a Michael's employee -- but of course, the employee didn't have an answer for her;) ).

I have been stamping for about 2 years and scrapbooking for about 4 years. I am so totally addicted to both (and I have the supplies to prove my addiction!!). I would love to meet up with some other people in the area from SCS! Mary Ann

My thoughts were sometime in July after the new catalog comes out. I checked with Panera Bread in the Tricounty area and they will "rent" the room for $50 (meaning the group of us must spend at least that much on beverages, food or gift certificates but not from 11-3 since that is the lunch rush). I am a freak about no food and beverages near my creations (a spill always happens) plus $4 for a cup of coffee burns me on principle alone (and I am not a tightwad). Again, I do have a complex party room that I can pay the deposit ($25) but get it back when I have left the room as found. There is a refrigerator and a bar type set up with stools that could be used for refreshments and the like, plus 6 tables and some chairs/sofas that are available for stamping. I held my stamp camp there and it was more than adequate. I am on the west side but not so far west (just off Montana Ave off 74W). All are welcome, newbies and more seasoned stampers. I would like to request that if I do host that we use only SU stamps and supplies (unless SU does not sell it). Please let me know if that is unacceptable.

I was thinking either a Friday evening or Saturday morning to afternoon deal. Since I am not going to convention we could even do this the weekend of convention so we don't feel left out?

Your thoughts?

Post 'em when you got 'em!

Let's hear from others as well ........

Do the majority work? I was hoping for a morning of afternoon deal, so as to save evening for family. However, as I do not work I am flexible.

As for products I have been purchasing SU for 10 years, am a very loyal stamper. I must admit I do buy/use other mfg'r products though.

Perhaps I can make some inquiries concerning a room this upcoming week.

I was thinking the latter part of June, personally works for me.

Like Kiki mentioned please add your thoughts and suggestions.

I think the complex room sounds great and it's not far from me (Finneytown). I'm pretty much open to anything -- majority rules

Smile shoe box swap

Panara Bread has a community room they rent out ( I think you just have to buy so much food from them) I am not positive but I am guessing there is one in that area.

Are you all pro's at stamping. I think I am ok, But I am not a Demo. I keep debating it though. I would really like to meet all of you and do this

Red face swap

I am a dork with computers, If I would have read the message first I would not sound like such an idiot right now.

I am very close to Cheviot, that would be fine with me. I am fine with all SU products that is what I have the majority of. I do not work away from home, but I have 4 boys and care for my 2 nephews during the week. I could do an evening or a Saturday morning ( I would have to check baseball schedules). I will find a way to work it out though.

Smile Cincinnati Shoe Box Swap

Hi everyone,
It sounds like people are interested in a shoebox swap in Cincinnati. I live in the Northgate area. I checked with my church and I can use our fellowship hall to hold the event. My church is Monfort Hts UMC on West Fork Road in Monfort Heights. I have tentatively scheduled it for August 20th 10am-4pm. Please email me to let me know if you are interested. [email protected]. I went to the one held in Dayton and really liked it. Everyone brought a snack food dish and the cost was $10. I will keep it around that same cost.

On Saturday mornings I can not get a sitter for DS. My DH and my mom work Saturday mornings. So I'd be out on Bobbies shoe box swap...

I've not heard back from my friend regarding my idea in Forest Park, so that may not work out. Plus, it would cost to rent.

SU items only sounds fine with me (unless they do not make it), sooner, rather than later too. The end of July, after the new catty is my preference. I'm signing up to be a demo soon, so I'd love some samples with new stamps and new colors. But, it does not have to be new stuff.

I like the idea of having it at your party room Kiki...I like a Friday night or Sunday. Sorry, I can do daytime (wished I did not work!)

Kiki - Besides the $25 rental that is refunded, it will be free, right? We could each provide a snack and drinks (and of course the supplies) and there would be no fee to come, right?

I'd be happy to help set-up/clean-up - whatever.

I also went to the shoebox swap in Dayton and it was great. The $10.00 fee they collected was because they provided drinks and they had a couple door prizes and contests for which prizes were given. There were about 30 people in attendance and everyone had great projects. It did take some people longer than 6 hours to complete everything. Kiki, does your party room have space for that many people or are you thinking something less? I'd love to come but Saturdays are about the only day I could make it-especially in July with convention and new catalog events. How many are really interested?

For my stamp camp I had 15 plus me fluttering about like a chicken with my head cut off but I had the best time doing it. It was not crowded per se...I think I could have easily had 5 more. There are 4-8foot tables plus 2 small rounds. We could possibly have 3-4 projects per 8ft table and 2 each on the rounds. That could make enough for about 20 ladies to participate. We may need some to bring a folding chair or a simple patio chair since seating would be the only drawback. I used the sofas, a park like bench that was in the room and there were a few extra chairs in the room plus I brought over 2 of my own. It is not a fancy room but it worked for me, I was not there to critique the furnishings but it is respectable and clean. I just counted all the posters to this thread and it looks like there are about 20 give or take a few.

Friday evening is okay but Saturday or Sunday is best for me. And if we have a large turn out we would need to more than 4 hours to complete all the projects (I think I have to be out of the room by 10 pm but can check (Heck we're just a bunch of ladies stamping but I imagine we could be a little loud...LOL). Yes it will be free and I would only need help setting up and breaking down the tables since they are the heavier banquet style (perfect for stamping no bowing like some of the newer plastic tables). I have table cloths already so no worry there, plus I save my cardboard from all the 12 x 12 designer paper to stamp on for workshops.

I will check availability tomorrow with the manager and set it up from there. I am thinking that July 16 or 17 or the following weekend (23rd or 24th). That way if you wanted to use a new stamp set, new paper, new supply it would (hopefully) arrive in time to plan your projects.

Everbody let me know your thoughts.

Default SW Ohio stampers shoe box swap

Count me in! I can be fairly flexible time-wise since my kids are teenagers so I don't need a babysitter, and I work out of my home, so I can sort of plan my work around my social schedule!

I guess I can do all SU products. I have plenty of SU stamps, but I would have to buy some SU cardstock since I don't use that exclusively (there's just too many cool textures and patterns and colors out there to limit myself!)

I would vote for the end of July. My June is already stuffed with kid stuff and vacation!

Smile Possible location

If you are still looking for a location you might want to check out Archivers in Mason (just north of Fields Ertel). They have a free work room with use of their tools. There are a few restrictions regarding availability and usage but it is a nice workroom. I have attached a link to the workroom portion of their website.

http://www.archiversonline.com/store/workroom.asp

If this link doesn't work try going to www.archiversonline.com

They also have a Friday or Saturday night Scrap Mania if you want to just pick a night (5-11) to go and meet everyone there.

http://www.archiversonline.com/events/index.asp

The cost is $15.00, I think and it includes dinner and door prizes. I haven't been to one yet but, they sound like fun. Plus, they would do all the organizing and clean up. Just an idea.

I called my apt manager and the party room is available any of the following dates:

Sat July 16
Sun July 17
Sat July 23
Sun July 24

My personal preference is Saturday, July 16 begin at noon and end whenever everbody finishes (I would estimate around 5 or 6 if there are 20 particpants).

Sunday the 17th is my second choice
Saturday the 23 is third
Sunday July 24 is fourth

Please pm me with your preference. I will go with the majority of responders.

Default Shoebox swap

I live in the Forest Park/Green Hills area and would love to be in a shoebox swap. Would also love to meet some of the people whose posts I've read and whose cards I've seen on the site. Of course, Tri County area would be a great location for me.

Is this limited to demos only? I have a customer who would love to come if I go. Can she bring a project and be a part of this too? Date doesn't really matter for us. She can get a babysitter - and I don't need one.

Found you, srastamp!! Cute pic of the boys!

I'm a demo in West Chester and would love to join in on this!! I belong to the same stamp group as srastamp, and this is something I'll bet the rest of the gals would love.

So, which date do you vote for srastamp? I've already forgotten what you told me!!

Saturday afternoon or Sunday afternoon work for me!!

All are welcome to join the shoebox swap. This is a great way for beginning stampers to learn and for more seasoned stampers a chance to share the knowledge.

One request is that you should use only SU products, embellishments that SU does not sell are okay. I think the limit will be 20 stampers and we're at 8 right now. Please do not forget to pm me with your email so I can send you the address and directions.

How will we do the shoebox swap? I know what a shoebox swap is. My true questions is will we try to do everyone's or draw numbers and just do 10 of them? I guess that this is depending on the final number of participants...

Any theme to our shoebox swap or is it open as long as it is SU! ?

Can you tell that I am excited?

Srastamp-great questions!

I think we could easily do 10-15 cards in 3-4 hours and as of today we have 10 stampers. I personally would like to make all and I know some stampers are quick while others are slow. I think all should prepare for the the number of stampers and if all cannot finish then they could atleast take the cs supplies with them and stamp them at home with their own choice of stamps.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?

I think all should prepare for the the number of stampers and if all cannot finish then they could atleast take the cs supplies with them and stamp them at home with their own choice of stamps.

Anybody else have thoughts on this?
I co-hosted the Dayton Shoebox swap. There's a simple way to make all the swaps. Here's what we did: Each person had their supplies at a placemat that was numbered 1-30. Each participant was given a sheet of paper that a numerical list of 1-30. When you completed a swap, you simply marked off that number. You always knew what you had done and what you needed to do yet. It was a great system. Most were able to complete all projects. Only a few scragglers, but we had 30 people. Also, if all particpants separate the materials of their swap into baggies, the people who didn't get to someone's swap could easily grab a baggie and go on to the next project.

I would be interested as well. Can you PM me the details, directions, etc.? Thanks!

I think we should make all the cards too. I like the baggie idea too. That way if someone does not finish, they can easily take their stuff and finish at home.

I'm in Cincinnati too (New Richmond) and would LOVE LOVE LOVE to join in these swaps! I attended the one in Dayton and had an absolute blast! Unfortunately, I can't make it to either the one on 7/16 or the one on 8/20! Bummer! Please keep me posted re: any future Cincinnati stamping events. I have been a Stampin' Up! demonstrator since March '04.
