Default Crinkled Paper - how to??

So - do you stamp on the cardstock and then roll it up in a ball and then flatten out? Where does the water come in or does it?

Confused - thanks for your help.

I stamp first, otherwise the crinkles might keep the image from stamping completely.

If you crinkle the paper dry, the creases are bigger. If you want a finer look, wetting the paper really makes a difference. I usually start by misting the backside of the paper -- less chance of ink running that way. Wad it up, squeeze it tight, and open. If it's not crinkled enough, turn the paper a bit and crinkle again. Just keep doing it until the get the look you want.

Sometimes if you spong ink lightly over the top it accents the creases.

I crumple my cardstock when it's wet and use it as a background layer. I haven't tried stamping on the crumpled (or crumpling the stamped) cardstock. However, I have noticed that the wet crumple looks much better than my dry crumple...that dry method always made my card look like I pulled some of it out of the trash!

I mist my paper with water and then crinkle it up. I've seen techniques where you stamp on the wet paper (gives kinda a watercolor look) or you could let it dry (I use a heat gun if I want it done in a hurry).

I must be nuts.... I iron my crinkled paper! I like it when it lay's flat, plus it dries faster! I also spray it on the backside, and then crumble... love the look of it!

You're not nuts - I do exactly the same thing!!! I have a little craft iron that gets mega hot. It dries the wet cardstock in less than a minute. I'm not patient enough to wait for it to air dry!

Where is a good place to get a craft iron? I have a lot of projects that this would be great for and I'm always using the 'good' iron to do them.

I fill a slightly bigger than 4.25 x 5.5 plastic case that the stamps come in with water and then lay my ccs in the water for a few seconds. Pull out , crumple and uncrumple, let dry naturally, then iron. I first sprayed some but it left my floor so slippery I almost cracked my head open on the edge of my table...stamping related injuries are not fun!

I then use as background mat, the Canvas and French Script look time worn!

I know that Hot Potatoes sells a craft iron and I heard that I think Ranger will be coming out with one soon. Hope this helps.
