Splitcoaststampers.com - the world's #1 papercrafting community
You're currently viewing Splitcoaststampers as a GUEST. We pride ourselves on being great hosts, but guests have limited access to some of our incredible artwork, our lively forums and other super cool features of the site! You can join our incredible papercrafting community at NO COST. So what are you waiting for?
Well, in this case, think of them as "strong guidelines". All of these are just to make VSN go a bit smoother for everyone. I take full responsibility for them - AND I realize that they won't make everyone happy but I will try my best. All of the hostesses have reviewed them and will stand by them unless something unexpected happens. I also realize that these rules really cater to those that play at VSN and not those that do it after the night is over. This is intentional so that all the playing field is level for the prize seekers. Most of the fun of VSN is running around trying to finish a challenge in a certain amount of time. It wouldn't be fair to have, for example, 3 hours to do a challenge and compare it to those that had 45 minutes, now would it? Please pm me with your questions and comments!
Here they are:
1. Each person can only win one time for the whole night's activities.
2. In the event that a person wins in more than one category, she (or he) wins the first time slot of the ones she's won. For example, she wins the 5:45, 7:15, and 11:00 rounds; She only receives prizes for the 5:45 round.
3. Each hostess will pick (rank) 5 winners just in case of multiple wins. If this happens, I will notify all the round hostesses that are involved and the next in line in the ranking will become the winner for those multiple rounds.
4. All entries must be posted/uploaded by Noon on Sunday the 26th (central time).
5. All entries MUST have "JuneVSNLetter" as the keywords. THIS is how the judges will find all of the entries for their challenge. EXAMPLE: "JuneVSNC" or "JuneVSNX" It will NOT be labeled based on time (i.e. 5pm or whatever) as this was too confusing to others (per the surveys) in other time zones. There will be a list of the challenges as they are made known.
6. Hostesses will have from noon on Sunday until 5pm on Sunday to vote for winners of their challenge.
7. Hostesses are not eligible for their round but MAY participate in all other rounds.
8. I (TexasLonghorns) am excluded from any winnings (and I won't have time to make stuff anyway!)
9. Participating in VSN is completely optional, as is entering in the challenge contests. Participants do not need to do all of the challenges to play.
10. HAVE FUN! HAVE FUN! HAVE FUN!
No grumpy, grumps here, please!
Please read these prior to the start of VSN.

I'm so excited. Glad you took all feedback into account - no way I can stamp, scan, find friends supplies and upload on Saturday night. Is that noon PT i.e. 3:00 p.m EST? It is real challenge for me to make a card in less than 2 hours!!!

Can't wait. Thanks for organizing.
It's noon, my time - CENTRAL. 1pm Eastern and 10AM Pacific.

I have one question. when we post with and put in the key word JuneVSN and then a letter are we supposed to use a specific letter or any letter? I am really new to this if you can't tell.

Excellent question!
OK, so there are 9 hostesses ( click here to see who they are) ...and each of their challenges will be called "JuneVSN_". So.... let's say, for example, Granny Hawkins is the 1st Hostess with the first stampin' fun challenge. Her challenge will be called "JuneVSNA".
But you'll still categorize the card as per stamp set used, etc.
Thanks for the guidelines...I'm one of those weird ruler-lovers! LOL!
One question - after we upload are we posting a link to our card backon the challenge thread to let poepl know to go look - like we do in the weekly challenges?
I won't be able to play the whole time, but I hope to get a few done tonight. Thanks!
Sounds very fair. Hope every one reads the rules before they play. I will not be able to play until about 6:00 p.m. pacific time. Sure sounds like fun. Thanks again girls for all your hard work. Nancy

Hey Jami,
Changed my mind (after I was shown the light!) - Post link back to CHALLENGE THREAD. There will only be one Chit chat thread.

Hi, I'm new to all of this and was wondering if the intent is to finish a card in 45 minutes (or a set time limit-I'm in the central time zone)? Thank you!

The intent is to try to finish them in 45 minutes. There will be challenges posted every 45 minutes so try to get them done in that timeframe. That's the "FUN" of it. If you are competing for prizes, you have until noon (CST) Sunday (tomorrow) to upload a picture of your creation. Make sure you use the correct keyword label "JuneVSNLetter" where Letter is the challenge letter (you'll see in a little while). And MOST importantly, HAVE FUN!

Okay. I am a BIG newbie (1st day) & I went to the upload page & there is no place that says "Keyword". There's 3 upload slots & the category pull-down. That's all. So I was wondering when, where, & how we type one in??? I am so excited to try this. I have a family dinner tonight but it will only last a couple hours & then I can jump in on the fun.
I have a question will the VSN challenages be posted right here on this thread or do I have to go else where ? and how can I save this thread to favorites if it is to be here tonight ?
thanks see you all in about 1 hr and 15 mins
xxox
very excited

Each challenge will be a new thread under Virtual Stamp Night.

Jami, It's up to you. You can just submit a card (with JuneVSNLetter in the keyword box) and be done. Or you can also put a link on the thread. Either way, the judges will see your card. Some people have a hard time with the link. Go with your preference! Have fun!
I know I am crazy to ask this so last minute, but how do I link my card to the post?? Thanks!!
As long as you have JuneVSNLetter in the keyword box, you won't need a link. But you absolutely can if you want! You will need 2 windows open.
On the thread, post a reply. Go to your next window. Go to your gallery and click on the card. Once there, click on the SCS name/number... where you would normally type in a web address. It will turn blue. Go to edit and click COPY. Click on the first window where you are still in the reply post. Go to Edit. Click on PASTE. Voila. You did it!
Okay, I'm SOOO not informed. I've since this reference to a "sticky" or "a stick at the top of the board" 3 times today.....I've searched and searched. Where are they?
Clueless in CT - but ready to VSN!!! Thanks so much for all the organization by everyone, it's my first time and I can't wait to get started.
The very top two posts in this forum ARE stickys, meaning they won't move as people post to them (or don't post to them). They are there STUCK to make it easier (HA!) to find!
HTH.
