Hi! I am your guest hostess for this week. Everyone needs a break from time to time. Haven't you just loved Jami's challenges? I think my favorite was the grad and wedding cards using non-traditional stamps. That has inspired this week's challenge. This challenge is actually in two parts: A) for people without patriotic stamps and B) for people with patriotic stamps.
The USA and Canada are about to celebrate Independence Day. If you live in a different wonderful country, you won't be procrastinating! ;) Please play where ever you live.
Group A: Please enter (LSC17 A) in your keywords box.
I challenge those of you that DON'T have patriotic stamps to make a card celebrating the holiday of your country's independence. You may use any colors or embellisments. It just can't have your traditional images like fireworks or a flag for the USA. Any technique will be excepted. There are many people have been stamping awhile and have extra tools for advance techniques but never have bought a patriotic set!
Group B: Please enter (LSC17 B) in your keywords box.
I challenge those of you that DO have patriotic stamps to do a KISS card (Keep It Simple Stamper). You may use up to 3 colors and only one embellishment (or none if desired). Please only use techniques that don't require extra tools not found in the home.
Have fun! Hopefully this challenge will get you addicted stampers by until June VSN! And this goes all week if you don't have time, today! Thanks for participating!

You said simple and this is about as simple as they come! LOL! I cheated a little bit because I cased my own card from Memorial day that I sent my dad. His said "thank you" instead of "celebrate."
I hope this is a good sample of a KISS card. I actually made this "on the spot" last night at a 10/4/$10 when we talked about July 4th things you can make if you don't actually have a fourth of July stamp set. So...here goes! My first challenge! God Bless Americaaaaaa.....Land that I love.....
Oh boy I had a card that I had finished earlier today. One of the viewers mentioned that it would fit this challenge too. How simple is that? Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
By the way the KISS principle is used in my family a lot only the acronym is translated, 'Keep It Simple Stupid!' but then that's how brothers and sisters usually talk to each other.

I have had some thoughts about a patriotic card in my mind for a while, so when I read this challenge, I ran upstairs to do a quickie before I turned into a pumpkin - afterall, it is after midnight!
I had the Star Studded wheel, which I never really thought about being necessarily patriotic, and the only other things I could find were some old cruddy spongy star and heart stamps and some cheap plastic letter stamps that my kids have had since they were about 3.

Jen said my card qualified and I had done this for the JuneVSN, I am a big big fan of the KISS idea especially when I have to make about 30 of these to send out by Wednesday. Thanks Jen for commenting and for asking me to put a link to my card here,,,

You made the link! It was sent back to pending because you added 17a to the description. (You may want to put LSC17A in the keywords instead of the stamps box.) All the comments will stay. Anyone who searches for LSC cards will see yours!
I hope you come back to play in future challenges. They are a lot of fun!
Here is a a new and improved card for LSC17A. My first card was made for the JuneVSN and when I decided I would use the same idea for my 4th of July cards, I needed to make a few alterations. To begin with, my printer didnt like the blue card stock, some of the SU is thicker and it just wont take it, so I had to print on white and use the blue for just a card front. My paper cutter doesnt always cut true so I had white showing when I glued the blue on the front. Then I trimmed it and used DTP along the edge of the white so it didnt look so stark. I did use a star wheel instead of the BG stamp as I thought it would be easier. I added the ribbon because I found it at Michaels on Monday and wanted to use it very badly on my card. So that is how my card went from KISS to complicated. I did get them all done and mailed today. I ended up making about 35.
Thanks Jen for asking me to post my card here.

Jen - Thanks for hosting this Supply Challenge and thanks for inviting me to post my card here! I submitted a card, but hadn't checked out the Challenges and didn't know I had one that applied! I do have the Stars and Swirls set, but I was just itching to do something out-of-the-box, so I came up with this card done with the new hostess set, Island Blossoms. I'm pretty pleased with the way it turned out!
