JuneVSN - Challenge B (JuneVSNB) - A "Thinking Outside the Box" Box
Ok, everyone. Its time for your next challenge. We have all seen cards on SCS made by creative individuals thinking outside of the box. For example, using flowers to make fish or the ULTIMATE... Happy Heart's Christmas reindeer made from the Fresh Flowers stamp set...
The challenge for YOU is to create a 2-4-6-8 box using images in ways other than for which they were intended. Directions for the 2-4-6-8 box can by found at: http://forums.splitcoaststampers.co...tachmentid=6403
Get ready...Get set... GO!!!!

I am looking for another link. This one worked about a week ago! ANyway, until I find one...... here :
score a 1/2 sheet of CS at 2, 4, 6 and 8 inches. Cut in on each score mark to 2" from the bottom. Cut off small flap. Notch with rectangle punch, assemble and add ribbon and tag.

Here are quickie instructions on the box . . . Using 1/2 sheet of CS, score at 2, 4, 6, 8 inches on the side that is 8 1/2, then the other direction, score at 2 inches. Cut up to the 2 inch mark and fold.
HTH!
Here is a picture of one I made in the past . . .

Well, as for more time... I can't reschedule the rest because of hostess constraints. SO, try to only spend 45 mins on it sometime btw now and tomorrow NOON for the upload deadline.

No access to link / Directions from attachment
I don't have access to the second link provided. However, I did get the attachment open... just in case anyone has problems with the Acrobat file (as I did at first), here are the directions (sorry, no pictures like in the real file). I think we're basically just supposed to be making a small treat box from cardstock & stamping it...
2 4 6 8 Treat Box
Materials:
5 x 8 piece of ultrasmooth white cardstock
18 orange grosgrain ribbon
Post-it notes or other masking material
Stamp set: Web Wishes
Stampin pads: Basic Black and Going Gray
Stampin Write Markers: Summer Sun, Only Orange, Going Gray, Lovely
Lilac or Marvelous Magenta
Misc: candy corn, spider ring, or other treats
1. Score cardstock at 2, 4, 6 and 8 along the 8 side.
2. Turn 90 degrees (5 side of cardstock will be against bottom lip of
paper cutter) and score at 2 along the entire length of the cardstock.
Figure 1
3. Stamp spider w/ bag on front, candy corn on sides, and spider holding candy corn on back using
Basic Black.
4. Mask sides of front panel and spider holding bag w/ Post-it notes. Stamp web on front panel (over masked spider) using Going Gray.
5. Remove Post-it notes. Color in spiders and candy corn.
6. Cut off 2 x section. (see Figure 1 above)
7. Cut along each 2 score mark to make bottom flaps of box. (see Figure 1 above)
8. Fold along score marks.
9. Place a line of mono adhesive on the stamped/decorated side of the 3 x flap.
10. Fold up the four 2 x 2 pieces to make the bottom of the box. Use mono adhesive on the last
2x2 piece to seal the bottom.
11. Form the top of the box similar to a milk carton. Pinch together the top of the box keeping the
front and back flat and pinching in the sides.
12. Notch the sides (to make a channel for the ribbon) with a rectangle hand-held punch.
13. Tie closed with grosgrain ribbon.

2468 box
small box
1. Cut a sheet of cardstock to 8 1/2" x 5 1/2".
2. Stamp sheet as desired.
3. Insert scoring blade on paper cutter. Score at 2", 4", 6" and 8" along the 8 1/2" length side of cardstock piece. You will have a 1/2" section left over.
4. Turn cardstock piece 90 degrees, and score entire length of cardstock at the 2" mark. (Your scoring blade will travel 8-1/2" down. The 5 1/2" side of cardstock piece will be against the bottom lip of your paper cutter).
5. Look at your scored cardstock piece. Take scissors and trim off the 2" x 1/2" section (not the 3 1/2" x 1/2" section). *Note: The 3 1/2" x 2" sections are the box top and the 2" x 2" sections are the box bottom.
6. Cut each 2" score mark along the 8 1/2" side. (You will be making three straight cuts, each along the 2" score marks). Do not cut beyond the long score mark running the length of the 8 1/2" side.
7. Fold along all score marks.
8. Place a section of sticky strip tape along the 3 1/2" x 1/2" flap on the decorated/stamped side. Seal the top part of the box closed.
9. Fold up the four 2" x 2" pieces; this is the bottom of your box. Use a sticky strip on the last 2" x 2" piece to seal the bottom of the box.
10. You will be forming the top of the box similar to a milk carton: Look at your box and find the side that looks best for your front. This front section and the back section of your box will remain flat. You will be 'denting' in the two SIDES of the box until you can pinch the top of the box flat.
11. I notched my sides with a rectangle hand-held punch and tied closed with a length of earth elements fiber.
Medium Box
(uses an entire 8.5x11 cardstock)
Score long side at 2 5/8...5 1/4...7 7/8...10 1/2.
Score short side at 2 5/8.
Large Box
(uses an entire 12x12 cardstock)
Score at 2 7/8...5 3/4...8 5/8...11 1/2.
Score other side at 2 7/8

I apologize for all the problems with the links. I didn't think this would be an issue at all! Now I hope that you guys can get started on this. It will be fun, I promise! These are very easy to do...although the trouble may suggest otherwise... Haha... ;)

Sorry :(
This is beyond my expertise. I know how to do the box, but cannot think of how to use a stamp other than what it was meant for.
