Question July VSN Supplies - Packing List

I usually travel to a friend's house for VSN, thus leaving most of my collection of stamping items at home. Last VSN there were some items that I hadn't packed and my friend who is a new stamper didn't have those items. Can we get a "packing list"? Something very specific? I don't care if it even dummies it down to scissors, adhesive, lumiere, etc. lol! Can you tell I love lists?

Thanks!!!

I don't have an official list, but my suggestions would be:

Some neutral cardstock like very vanilla or white

An assortment of colored cardstock

An assortment of inkpads . . . may want to keep it all within one color family along with the cardstock and a neutral ink pad

Paper cutter

adhesive like mono or hermafix

ribbon (some gals can't make a card without it)

bring some stamps (of course) why not pull out those sets that you "had to have" and now are just gathering some dust, most of the challenges are broad enough to accept any stamp set

some buttons, brads, eyelets (don't forget your setter)

Some shape punches, they can be used as an embellishment on a card, to do layering, or perhaps to make a window

glitter (if you dare)

I find glossy cardstock is helpful in a number of techniques, so if you have that, bring it!

Oh, crystal effects will help stick some of those embellishments on, and perhaps a brush if you want to use it to make your card pretty

pastels are handy and can be used in a variety of ways

a snack, and perhaps something with caffiene

I always like to have my papersnips or cutter bee scissors handy

does your friend have a digital camera or a scanner, that could be helpful, although you always have until noon the next day to submit your creations to the site.

well, that is not a very organized list, but hopefully it will get you off to a good start!

What I did was offered for people to come here and just use my stuff and they could pay me for it, kind of like a class. But I think summer is just too busy for my friends. Several of them go camping on the weekends in the summer and one has an art show tomorrow. Hopefully they will come around come September.

We pretty much just used my things. Am hoping to get my supply drawers labeled today so everyone can be more self reliant tomorrow cuz I sure was tired at the end of the night last time, fetching, uploading 24 cards, creating my own cuz it's not like I am anywhere near 20 years old anymore, lol

It just about takes a moving company to do it at someone elses house!! I am going to a friends house again so I will be packing my stuff up! We both have pretty much everything but we do have some different stamp sets.

The list was helpful though. I guess I'll bring some matt board too just in case they want that used again!! She didn't have any and mine was at home (just around the corner).

I'm sure I will be making a run for something at some point!

I just got caught off guard on a few items last time....I was thinking "I have that at home!". IF you can think of anything else let me know...maybe challenge specific....;)

Wink

I was thinking today perhaps some reinkers, those usually come in handy for watercoloring or many different techniques, I agree with graciesmom about sponges, I should have thought of that! Hope that helps . . .we can't give away clues about the challenges!

Default VSN "packing" list

This is so helpful-I am very new to stamping but have bought everything I can get my hands on-I love it!

VSN is such a great idea! I can't wait to try it tonight!

Thank you everyone for all of your ideas and creations. They are incredible and very helpful to a newbie like me!
