JULYVSNZ - DON'T FORGET TO USE THIS CODE IN THE KEYWORDS FOR JUDGING!
Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed, Something Blue. No this isn't a wedding, this is my challenge to you.
First you need Something Old - your card needs to be either Retro, Nostalgic, Distressed or Heritage in style.
Then there is Something New - this would be either a new stamp set, new accessory, or new technique (New meaning, new to you. A technique you have never tried, a new accessory you just bought, or maybe a stamp set you have never used)
Something Borrowed - well I am going to supply that. Choose from one of the layouts in my attachment to create your card.
And finally Something Blue - You will need to use the color Blue somewhere in your card.
Sorry it is 8:45. I am on EST and it is 9:45 here. But this is a Bonus Challenge. If it is like June's Bonus Challenges, you have all night to work on these.
Ooooh aren't you clever!!! I love this idea - but I won't submit since we're friends and all. But maybe I'll try it on my own sometime! Have you made one for this yet?
Love this challenge!!! Wish I was stamping tonight....Things just totally discombobulated from yesterday. It's almost 10:30 here and I still have a kid in my lap, one just back from a wedding and reception and STILL awaiting my DH's arrival from work.....*sigh* BUT...I'm gonna use this challenge to my stamp club! AND they would laugh because I always demo BLUE!!
ok, her is my card, went for retro look, new stamps and new technique-paper piercing! used a borrowed layout, and last of all included blue! super fun!
Canvas, small talk, expressive phrases, the mat pack, and sahara sand ink are all new to me. Bordering blue base is my new with the sahara ink makes a distressed look for my old.
I tried distressing it with sandpaper. But you can't see the distressing. So then I used Distressing Ink. The ink is DTP and came out as the squares which gives it a retro look. Martini's are retro, so I just went with it.
The tags are new. They're sticky backed, come 36 to a sheet at Wal-Mart. I ruined the stickies trying to place them, so I used the jump rings. I don't have silver jump rings...
I borrowed the circle template idea and the paper is blue.
OK - here is mine - I guess I could say that the Tag is either old or new - old because I've had them hanging around here for years, but new because this is the first time I have used one of them. I used Bliss Blue all over... distressed... and a new stamp set (to me - Mr. Brown brought it to me on Tuesday).
Okay, here's mine! I really wanted MamaK's little pieces cause that one sketch screams for it's use...I think it may be a set we both need to have! So I improvised...
explanation of old/new/blue/borrowed in the upload...

I didn't even get a chance to look at this one last night! So I thought I'd give it a try this morning.
I call it "Burning Down the House"...
Old....Thinking of Father, Candling technique (stamped in versamark, hold it over a candle and use a spoon to create lots of black smoke which sticks to the vm image), and burning the edges of the torn paper.
New...My brand new metallic pencils I just got yesterday with my great rewards!
Borrowed...layout
Blue...Bordering Blue background, Night of Navy DTP, various blue pastels and blue metallic pencil
This was fun! Thanks! I will edit & add the link when it's approved.
