Ok I have seen conflicting info on your first order to meet your mins. I thought you get the first 3 months and do not have to meet a min and then the next three months will be your first requirment. Ok so why am I seeing Dec 31 as the deadline to make the min and why am I seeing that your first 30 percent order will count towards the min because wouldn't that be in the grace period? Help and I am sorry if I have confused anyone becasue I am confused myself!!!
Dork- you confused me! Here's how it worked when I signed up. You get to use your 30% off it does count towards the minimum for your first quarter (first quarter is over Sept 30th) you do not have to meet a minimum the first quarter. BUT if you do meet your minmum you still have to meet the minimum for the next quarter Oct-Dec and the amount you sold (or bought) in the previous quarter does not carry over. So if you sold $100 this month you still have to sell $300 between Oct and Dec. Hope I didn't confuse you more- see you next week!

If this is still true, I think a lot of people thinking of just being hobby demos need to take note! I've tried to ask the ?? of order timing, but never seem to get an answer - this is the closest I've read, but still the ?? of how long do you have to qualify for the 30% - is it 30 or 45 days? BECAUSE if it is only 30 days, then that would mean you really have to think whether the extra 10% is really worth having to place another order in the Oct-Dec quarter...do you see what I mean? You'd save $30 dollars (assuming $300 purchase) BUT you'd end up having to spend another $300(+/-) by Dec 31, just to stay a demo... Timing, Timing, Timing...
except....had to chime in about my own personal situation, if I choose to sign up and send in my paperwork say around August 24th, then 45 days from then would take me into October.....so by using the 30% off and perhaps making it a large order, I could theoretically fulfill my quota from Oct to Dec-is that right? Just looking for confirmation on that!TIA!Tina
I guess I'm looking for confirmation as well. I hate to wait on signing up as a demo, I really would like to get the 30% & as a hobby demo only, I really can not afford to buy the kit, & place two orders before the end of the year...
When you first sign up, whatever quarter you are currently in is waived to meet the minimum requirement that quarter. You have until the following quarter to make your first 300 minimum. So, if you sign up now, the whatever is left of the 3rd quarter is waived (but of course you can still put in an order....that 30% off first order!!), and you don't have to sell 300 until the end of December. Now, if you sell 300 before the 4th quarter, you are set! It's sell $300 by the end of the year and you've made your quota.

Aubrey - the rules have changed somewhat since you signed up - it's nicer now.
The rules, according to the Demo Manual (Ch. 6, Career Planning) are:
You have until the end of your first full quarter (if you sign up now, the first full quarter would be Oct/Nov/Dec) to meet your first minimum. ALL your sales from when you get your demo number until the last business day in Dec will count towards that minimum.
You have 45 days (60 days in Canada) from your official start date (when DS assigns you a demo number) to put in your 30% order. It will count as part of your first minimum.

Thank you, I think you helped me and a couple of others who are racking their brains!!!

I just mailed in my paperwork today - my upline and I were just having this discussion! Thank you SO MUCH for answering this question -- we couldn't remember what it was!

Well, I meeting with my future upline tomorrow to talk about the whole demo thing & to give her my paper work. I am so looking forward to it, she even wants to do some stamping - I'm not too sure I'll have that much time, but that would just be icing on the cake...
So I keep thinking of what I'd like to include in my first order (since I've come to conclude that I can coincide the 30% w/ my first quota), & I realized that I almost forgot the new color wheel. What with all the paper colors I need - that I'm not going to have too much room for any new stamps...
I realized that I almost forgot the new color wheel.
I was just about to buy the color wheel when the buzz started about the new colors that were coming out.....so I waited......and I waited........and I waited.......and then bought it out of the new catalog.
I love the new color wheel. My upline laughed at me when I got it - but she has a super eye for color - and some of the combos it shows are amazing and things that I would have never considered!!! I have had it about a month and it has already proved worth the price! Even better, my upline? She wants to get one now!!!
