Inspiration for stamping is everywhere! Inspiration for stamping can be found in our closets, on gift wrap, in our furniture and home decorations....it is everywhere!
So...for TLC23, the challenge is to find *something* in your home that inspires you to stamp, and then go stamp it up! It might be just the color combination on the packaging. It might be an actual pattern in your shirt that you can duplicate. Please keep in mind that you don't have to copy it *exactly*, just use the colors or design as a jumping off point.
I had so much fun with this TLC that I made FIVE cards yesterday using different items in my house. If you want a REAL challenge, go to your pantry and try to capture the essence of the labeling in a card. I saw this in Rubber Stamper, and thought it was just the coolest idea....I found it to be very challenging!
If you possibly can, take a picture with your card along with the inspiration piece. If you don't have a digital camera, just tell us what your inspiration was.
If you are new to the challenges, please feel free to do this one or ANY of the challenges at any time. There is no time limit. They are not races to see who can do one first, nor are they contests of any sort. All the challenges are simply to provide inspiration and to get us STAMPIN' !!
LOL!...I was just sitting in church yesterday looking at my skirt thinking, "This would make a great card!" No kidding!! Divine inspiration...? Now I guess I'd better go and do it. Thanks for the boost, Beth.
What a riot! Beth, you must be reading people's minds! I have been thinking about a pattern on some fabric and room accessories that I have seen at Target and thought--"Wow, that would be a cool card!" Guess I am off to play! Kathy
What a great challenge Beth. I do this with cards at the Hallmark store or Target. I get some neat ideas this way. Of course my cards never look exactly like them, but it is the jumping off point that gets me excited. I will try this tonight when I get home from my busy day. Wonder what I have in my closet that will inspire me.......

This is my first TLC. My inspiration came when I received a birthday gift from a coworker last week. The gift wrap was two side so I told her I would make a card with it. I choose to make her a thank you for the gift. I used the gift wrap in the Iris Folding technique and the found a swirl stamp and use it to match the paper. What do you think?
Howdy everyone! Here is my card for the TLC 23. They have had some really cute dorm accessories at Target lately and the colors are like these on my card. The flower looks like the one I used from Island blossoms. They are kind of fun and funky! Thanks for looking! Kathy
Still pending as of 8:34 pm EST
Hey Stampkat, was it the Target in Salem, NH??? I bought a dish towel & dishcloth there on Friday, more for the inspiration it gave me to make a card than for doing the dishes!!! I've got to get to work on it!

Ever since Jenn posted a card she created from a shirt she has from Coldwater Creek everything I see is a card waiting to be made, lol. This challenge is too funny and way too cool and I love what everyone has done so far. I have been working on creating a beaded shirt inspired card off and on for 2 weeks, just can't get the right look
Okay, here's the one I made this morning for this challenge, inspired by a skirt my husband bought me. This is one technique I use a lot. I'm always finding inspiration in odd places.
This is one I did for a swap a while back. The colors were inspird by an outfit one of my co-workers wore one day. The new colors were just announced and there she was in Always Artichoke, So Saffron, and Real Red!
Well, I just posted my card again. Not sure what is up with my gallery so hopefully it will work. Thanks to Beth for the challenge and thanks to everyone else who looks!
Kathy
Wow this was fun but very time consuming!! Fun idea - I'm always looking around and thinking that things look like they've been stamped!! Perhaps my inspiration was too ambitious!! The card was inspired by a portion of the wrapping paper on the right of the scan. Not sure how the image will be when approved - it was rather large with both the card and paper.
Hey Everybody! I just wanted to take a moment to post and let you know how much I appreciate all you talented stampers out there! What fun it is to come "lurk" and see what you create! Thank you! AND - thank you Beth for posting such fun challenges. You are THE BOMB!
I got on a roll with this challenge. We are painting and decorating my girls' rooms, so I was inspired by a bedspread in the Bed, Bath and Beyond ad from a couple weeks ago. I think we receive inspiration from things around us all the time and just don't realize it. This morning I noticed that my purse is gable green and my billfold is pink passion.
Okay I have one done and for now it shows up in my gallery. I've had to upload a couple times already but I really did see it there! I did get to post on a few that have been uploaded but it won't take most of my comments so great work stampers on what I've seen so far! I want the gallery back to normal or faster would be great!
Beth, I love your challenges! I save ideas from everywehre and this was a good push to put them to use.

I can't stop. Here's my last one for the evening. This one replicates not just one but two wrapping papers!! As you can tell I am having fun with this week's technique. I used cottonballs, reinkers and alcohol to swipe the background.
Here's one I did. It was inspired by a picture my son took during our vacation of a beautiful orange and brown butterfly on some bright orange Butterfly Weed. This picture is now my wallpaper on my computer.
Okay . . . you ladies have blown my socks off tonight!!! What an amazing bunch of inspired cards you have all made. I have had a blast looking through them and admiring all the levels of inspiration.
I have been on vacation and missed out on the challenges earlier in the week. This one is particularly funny to me, and I will definitely take it up this weekend as soon as I get a chance.
Several weeks ago someone posted a card that was inspired by a black/blue/white floral skirt from JCPenney's, saying how much the pattern resembled "Mixed Bouquet." It really did! The funny part was that I had seen that skirt back in early spring on the JCP website and debated whether to buy it or not, but when I finally found it in the store, I didn't like the particular one that was my size, because the fabric was cut so that a huge flower was right in my lap. Looked bad, so I didn't buy it. Then when I was cleaning out my DD's closet, I noticed that her new skirt also looked like it was made with Mixed Bouquet. Well, what a surprise to get home from vacation today and my very own MB had been delivered today! Guess what set I will be using for my "inspired" card???
Thanks for all the wonderful ideas and great, great cards. You Girls Rock!!!!!
I had to go back in my gallery files and find these cards and then go look for my inspiration photos to share with you. The inspiration comes from Webshots which many of you may be familiar with, so here some ideas for you.
First you'll see the link for the Webshots photo and then my card in the second link. This is so much fun and I have so many photos stored on my computer that I want to create from. The inspiration is endless!
I know we've moved on to another challenge, but I'm finally getting the chance to play and create a few ideas for this challenge. So, here they are (as they get approved):
WOW, I think I finally did it! I finally decided to take the plunge & upload a card; This challenge was perfect timing (last week!); I've been trying since then to upload it! Had a little technical assistance today from my DS; Hope I didn't cause too much havoc to the site with my attempts! Will have to learn more about adding details before August VSN!
Better late than never I have been wanting to do something inspired from this skirt for a long time, so this challenge was the perfect motivator to make me do it! Gallery at Splitcoaststampers
