Maybe I'm just uncoordinated, but I can never get my "two step" sets to turn out right. The 2nd stamp always comes out right on top, or too far off. I've mounted my stamps really really close to the edge of the block so I can see them, but I'm still having trouble.
Any suggestions?
I'm gonna sound like a dummy but I have to two step stamp looking at the stamp at the underside (rubber part of stamp) from the top of the stamp to the bottom instead of the bottom to the top.... makes it easier for me to line them up.....

Yep -- get a Stamp-a-ma-jig! I don't know why I struggled so long before finally ordering one!

I have to agree! The Stamp-a-ma-jig is a stamper's best friend! I don't know how anyone can get along without it. It's available at Michaels, and, with the coupon, costs very little $$$!

I try to worry to much it it's not aligned perfectly. Makes your project seem more "handmade". Plus I think some stamps are not meant to align perfectly, ie. Shapes & Shadows. A little off center adds interest!!! Hey, aren't we all a little off center anyway!!

Another stamp-a-ma-jig-a-holic here! That thing is the greatest! You will love it if you like to line things up!! I know someone mentioned Mi#hael's, but remember that SU! also carries them - might be more convenient for you.
You can check it out in the catalog. It's basically a square of clear plastic with a positioning tool. You line up the corner of the plastic sheet with the inside corner of the tool, stamp your image on the plastic, using the tool as a guide. Then place the plastic on your CS, placing the image where you want it, line the tool up against the same corner, remove the plastic, leaving the tool in place, and stamp your image on the CS, again using the tool as a guide
I know it sounds very complicated, but it's really very quick and easy once you get the hang of it. I won't stamp without it now!

This style stamp positioner (in the link below) is what I use and it also serves as a wheel guide for cards plus you have a ruler. So why buy so many tools when you can get them in one. Michael's sells this style for around fifteen dollars and you can use a coupon. It's very easy to line up on the card with two long edges. I put some rubber grippers on the bottom to prevent sliding and you can use your scrap rubber the same way. T Ruler Stamp Postioner
A little off topic tip is to hold the card to the table top with post its so it doesn't move. The masking off tape will also work but I had it tear the cardstock but it wasn't made for cards but for walls. I was told to check for that at Michael's.
Thank you so much! I feel like such an idiot. I played around with 2 step stamping for quite a while tonight before I thought to look here on SCS for help. I had the worst time lining up the images until I was reminded of the stamp*a*ma* jig. DUH!! Works great, thanks.
