Default I finally got storage for my SU! ink pads

After reading several posts about how everyone stores their inkpads, I set my eyes on the ones I wanted. They were the ones sold at Ikea made for storing DVDs. Of course they were not available online and the closest Ikea is just over 2 hours away. I asked DH about a road trip and explained to him for what. It turned out that we didnt have the time that weekend.

Early this afternoon, DH calls me on the way home from Maryland. He said 'so where's that Ikea near DC I quickly went to the website, he used his laptop and found it. Once inside he called me to get the name of the Stackebo. A saleslady found it on the pc lookup. He called be back and asked how many I wanted YAY!! He got me 5 of them. I have already mounted them to the wall next to my desk. I am so happy!!

Thanks for posting the information about these (cant remember who did)

I didn't post the info but I just wanted to tell you I'm happy for you! It's SO exciting to get new stuff to keep us organized. I just got a new little stamp caddy myself, I use the wood ones that swivel. I felt like it was Christmas!!

*sigh* I wish I lived close enough to Ikea to send my hubby running like that. I grew up with Ikea and I really miss it.

Have fun with your new goodies

Was about to post my ignorance as of not even knowing what/where IKEA is!!!!!!!!!! Then I saw the post by Princesspansy, a fellow YOOPER and now I know there must be one within 7 hours of me but I don't know where. I feel so clueless! I'm looking for ink pad storage myself though so would appreciate more info if anyone has some for me.

Thanks!

Princesspansy, I'm in Escanaba!

I don't have many big pads, but I got one of these DVD holders too. It's awesome. When I went to IKEA, they were out of them, and the guy had to get out a drill and take the display one off the wall for me!

I tried putting a few of the old pads i have, they wedge in there but, i think it would eventually loosen the wood.

No, I get them from this website.

http://www.stampinthings.com/

I got the Elite model with the topper. My stepdaughter liked it so much I just ordered another one for part of her Christmas. And my friend just recently got two Elites from her! The lady, Sue, that makes them is really nice and does a great job. I'd highly recommend her products if that's the route (wooden swivel) you want to take. They hold the pad, inker and marker together. Also there is room on the sides for bigger pads such as the kalidoscope pads, and my high domed chalk pads fit in those side slots too.

I love my Ikea DVD holders. I have my craft inks in one and my neutrals in the other. If I didnt already have the SU pad holder, I would have gotten enough to put all my pads in. Glad that your DH was thoughtful enough to swing by there. That was even sweeter than flowers

Thanks for the tip! We have an IKEA 30 min from here. I am going to go this weekend. Is it called the Stackebo as you mentioned?

Thanks

Default I just got mine!!

After reading this tread, I went out this morning to Ikea and bought mine. I love them!!! I mounted them while ds was napping. They look great. And now my stamping space looks so much neater. I don't think I ever really looked at these in past threads, so thank you for posting this one.

Well, if you live in Australia you can order them. Not Fair I say! Here's a link to the item in IKEA Australia.
