Poll: Mad City Madness Gathering?
Hello!
I was thinking of planning a shoebox swap gathering in Madison, WI for early next year. Initially I was thinking February. There will be a May gathering in Milwaukee and I wanted to space it out enough for people to attend both if they so choose.
Now SU has created a regional in Milwaukee in February (YAY!) - which could change things a bit. Jan/Feb is also Sell-A-Bration time, which means demos might be busier than usual.
So here's your chance to vote - we'll go majority rules.
Option one - last Saturday in January (3 wks before regionals)
Option two - 1st Saturday in February (2 wks before regionals)
Option three - 1st Saturday in March (2 wks after regionals)
I'm also looking for volunteers to help plan and prep for the event. PM me if you're interested!
-Tracy

For those of you who haven't attended an event like this before.....
For the shoebox swap - you design a card and bring enough supplies for everyone to make it. Then we spend the day making each other's cards.
We'll also so have optional swaps - card fronts, anything but a card and door prize items. These you would pre-make all.
Lunch will be provided as well. In the past, similar events have cost around $20-$30 and have had 30-50 people in attendance.
Post here if you have any more questions!

I voted for the last Saturday in January. Hopefully, we might get some additional Sell A Bration ideas that we could use for the rest of the promotion, and it's far enough from Regionals.
Also, wouldn't want the first Saturday in March because it is our Annual Mall of America shopping trip and although I love stamping I also love shopping. (Besides, they do have a stamp store in the mall where I can get my little fix.) LOL
Thanks Tracy for putting one together.

Hi Scrapin' Fool! Basically what you'd need to do is design a card, then bring enough supplies for everyone (approx 40-50) to make it. Then we spend the day making each other's cards. Lunch will be provided. Estimate the fee will be $20-$30 depending on how much I can get the room for. There will also be optional swaps (card fronts, anything but, door prize). Hope that's enough info for you for now. These gatherings are ALWAYS a blast! Hope you can make it.

I'll have to decline to go to this one.
I'm going to Leadership, Memphis Regionals, Milwaukee Regionals and also Stephanie's Milwaukee gathering in the spring plus with SAB I'm getting rather booked already.
I hope you have fun!

Thanks to all who threw in their 2 cents! Now, I need to get to the planning. So it looks like Saturday, January 28th has won out by a small margin. I'm in the process of booking a location now. Watch for details coming soon!

PS - I am looking for volunteers to help organize food and door prizes. PM me if interested.
